I'm pretty sure it's not thrush, for a few reasons.  First, she'd only 
been on Ampicillin 24h before the lump appeared; I don't think it could 
have flared quite that fast.  Second, the lump is behind her nipple, as if 
a walnut was trying to get out.  There is a scab of sorts on the nipple 
face but it has a classic bacterial infection look, complete with yellow 
ooze.  Both nipples seriously did look exactly like the Breastfeeding 
Atlas photo of a bacterial infection.  Finally, Mom had no itching or 
burning, only pain.
