Those of us in the lactation world are well aware that BF reduces the risk
of bresat cancern -- but a recently released study (yeah Allison Steube MD!)
underscores this.
http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/707398?src=mpnews&spon=16&uac=19942HY.

What has been nice is the play this study is getting in the meainstream
media: The ABC mroning show had a lengthy segment on it (despite one
groam-inducing comment at the very end of the bit). Raleigh NC news had it
as front-page news.

I think it is always a good thing that BF is discussed in a context that is
*outside* the mommy-baby world. Women with a family history of breast
cancer should know that BF reduce their risks ... and they should hear about
it when they are watching the morning news shows or reading the paper, not
(only) when they are pregnant and in the OB office. Assuming the OB is on
the ball.
