Many restrictions are demanded from amother during pregnancy, and then
during lactation. Do not eat this, do not do this, etc. I find it incredible
that society has found a new restriction "do not exercise", your baby will
refuse the breast because YOUR milk will taste bad!!! ONE study (Infant
Acceptance of Postexercise Breastmilk)reported this. It is said in the
beginning of the study that the women involved in the study had not
previously reported that her infant refused to nurse following exercise.
Then the discussion says that acceptance of pre and post-exercise milk was
measured by the mother's perception, then that wether or not it was the
detection of sour taste or the supression of sweet taste, the postexercise
milk was less acceptable to infants ( could the behavior have been linked
with the baby reacting to his mother's absence or the surroundings?).

What we need to know is that two other studies were published in 1994
(Effects of dieting and physical activity on pregnancy and lactation & A
randomized study of the effects of aerobic exercise by lactating women on
breastmilk volume and composition). These studies suggests that
breastfeeding women can safely undertake an exercise program postpartum
without jeopardizing breastmilk volume or composition. Both report that
mothers did not have any difficulty breastfeeding their baby after exercising.
