It's never been as high as 70%. It does vary from year to year depending on
the difficulty of the exam -- a lower passing score reflects a more difficult
exam (taken question by question) than a higher passing score.

Now what I'm going to share with you is more than you ever wanted to know,
I'm positive, but:
1985 -- 61.8
1986 -- 62.9
1987 -- 63.8 (my first year)
1988 -- 64.6
1989 -- 67.5
1990 -- 64.6
1991 -- 63.6
1992 -- 64.0
1993 -- 63.9
1994 -- 63.8
1995 -- 61.8
1996 -- 62.9
1997 -- 64.0 (my second year)
1998 -- 65.0
1999 -- 67.0
2000 -- ?? -- I saw someone said 61%, and now I've seen 64%. Anyone have the
real numbers? There are only a handful of people who have received 90% or
above on the exam. A couple of years ago it was only 10. So my heartiest
congratulations to our person who got a 95%. That is absolutely fantastic!!
And, I'm glad to share that info with the attendees in our Lactation
Management Education Programs and our Certification Cram Courses....
