I think that breast milk for the first year provides all the nutrients a baby
needs and if it is "deficient" in certain minerals, that may be best for
human babies in the long run.

I also believe that very delayed solid foods lessen the incidence of
allergies and obesity.

Admittedly, these ideas are in large measure intuitive and may be at least
partially at odds with medical literature about iron deficiency and cognitive
function and zinc in babies' diets. I am familiar with this literature and
have no problem at all with mothers or doctors who start solids at six months
of age because I might be completely wrong. If my thoughts are wrong, I
still think it possible that the posited benefits of added iron and other
things might have longer term drawbacks of which we're unaware.

I might be wrong.

(I just realized that I mentioned the possibility of being wrong three times
in a hundred words. That's a record, I believe. I might be wrong about
that, too.)
