a mother recently contacted me looking for information on tongue tie. Her
6week old daughter's tongue is practically forked it's so tight. She is
nursing though, no supplementing, and is having as she puts it "just some
minor problems." This includes some soreness and latching problems.

mother is interested in stretching exercises and having it clipped if need
be, however... mom has type b hemophelia or factor IX deficiency. her
other two sons have really bloody mouths when they get hurt there, and the
test is evidently not efficient before the child is one. so mother is
worried if it does need clipping this could be a problem. I told her about
my son's clipping and the fairly limited blood at 3 months, but I also said
I wasn't sure how relevant to her situation that would be.

if anyone has information on hemohelia and clipping I'd be pleased to pass
it on. if she can't get it clipped it's "no big deal" she'll just deal
with it until it (hopefully) stretches. She's that type...
