Please note that mint inhibits lactation (as do other members of the
menthus family and related herbs such as sage and oregano). Many
herbalists know nothing about lactation. It's important to acertain both
someone's herbal knowledge and their lactation knowledge. Goldenseal
should not be taken for long periods (over a few days) while lactating.
St. John's Wort does not appear to be a problem, although no randomized
controlled trials (RCTs) have been conducted in lactating women (duh...once
again, stating the obvious...when do they ever include lactating women?)
