Consider yourself supported and pampered. We're rooting for you
and all the Moms you care for (and all the docs and nurses you
educate)

First, I would take a nice long walk (if the weather is nice today
in NY) or some other refreshing exercise.

If these docs are generally supportive of bf, then can you make a
time to chat with them? A set aside time may be better than
catching them on the fly - it lets them know this is important
and you are more likely to have their more or less undivided
attention.

My style in these things is first to find out where they
are coming from. Why did they make the recommendations they
did? Then you can argue/educate/ speak to their knowledge,
misinformation, strengths etc.

Go in assuming that you are on the same side and they also
want to provide excellent care for their patients. (See above,
go for a walk, so you can put yourself in that place before
you even call to make an appointment.)

We educate mothers, docs, nurses, grandmothers, fathers etc etc.
one person at a time. It's labor and time intensive, but this
is what we do and there isn't much out there that's more important.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Naomi Bar-Yam (who is delighted to report first crocus sitings in our
yard after and long, cold, snowy winter here in New England.)
