An LLLL friend in another city told me that she got a call from a mom who'd
been advised to use oral contraceptives to cut down on her oversupply of
milk.  I hadn't heard of this - I know, of course, that a combination birth
control pill (estrogen + progestin) *does* decrease the milk supply but I
hadn't heard of utilizing this effect to "treat" oversupply.  Seems risky to
me - what affect does the medication have on the mother's ability to make
more milk in response to baby's changing need? - but I would love to hear
what others know of this.  Thanks!
