Ooops! Thanks, Karleen, for the reminder. Even as I was typing the
excerpt, something about the author's name was disturbingly familiar,
but just out of reach! So I searched the Archives again, and found
all the discussions about the controversial findings, including this
from Janice Reynolds on 31 Jan 2006:

I have obtained a partial list of the studies that Chandra has published.
Pamela Morrison (of Lactnet) compiled a partial list (she had limited time)
and even this list of abstracts is 19 pages long.

Oh dear! How embarrassing! So I fossicked around in my files again,
and sure enough, there are all the abstracts.... Sorry, everyone!

But meanwhile, many many thanks to Susan in Michigan for giving such
a clear account of her grandson's bovine sensitivity, and how it was
finally resolved when meat as well as milk was eliminated from the
mother's diet. Your account certainly complements my own experience, Susan.

Now, if there is an up-to-date, and credible, paper on the
possibility of beef as well as cow's milk being a trigger for
alleregies/intolerance/sensitivities....?

Thanks for your patience

Pamela

Dear Pam,=20
My daughter's baby was a miserable baby his first 6 weeks. She had OMER =
to add to the problem of diagnosis. But we did find that the symptoms got =
better but not gone with dairy removal even after 2 weeks. Meanwhile the =
baby is still crying and miserable most of his awake time. During a =
consultation with a pediatric gastroenterologist he suggested removing all =
beef from her diet also. Not based on anything in research that he knew =
of, just common sense that the proteins from the same animal might have a =
relationship. (Mom did love beef and ate it in some form several times per =
day). 48 hours after removing all beef there was significant improvement =
and after one week we finally had a normally behaving baby! As a side =
note, as a toddler he handled beef protein much sooner than he tolerated =
cow's milk in his diet. That is my personal experience of one. I do pass =
on this information to mothers of babies in whom we suspect bovine milk =
allergy and it has made a difference for some. =20
