Well, there we are! As my husband said the other day, "Mothers do not choose
betweeen breast and bottle. They choose NOT to breastfeed, because
breastfeeding is the default."

And, as an aside, this morning I was able to share with mothers many of the
local breastfeeding-related customs that Lactnetters have written about in
the past few months. We had a wonderful discussion about how what seems
normal in one setting may be completely off the wall in another, and what we
should really be looking for is the biological norm. Thank you all for being
such a fantastic source of information and inspiration.

Hugs from norma, who would love to take up the offer to visit a country
where the importance of breastfeeding is truly appreciated.
