To Marian Rigney who says that " I may not agree with her choice but I
believe in her right
to make it." and to Tony Knox, what would you say to a mom who says that she
doesn't want to put her baby in a car seat? Most babies who ride in cars
without car seats will not be harmed statistically, yet I doubt that any HCP
would support the moms choice not to buckle her baby in.
In fact statistically, the baby's chance of being harmed by artificial
feeding is much higher than being hurt in a car accident.
and the mom who insists on smoking during pregnancy? Her choice is her
right?
Why is it that breastfeeding is the basis of preventative medicine, but you
support even encourage the mom's right not to do it?
I would even use the same rationale with regard to immunizations. It is her
right to choose not to immunize her baby, and yet I am sure that as a HCP,
you would frown on that decision. My kids didn't have all the immunizations
and they are healthy, but I would never dare suggest that a mother not
immunize on the basis of my experience, or many others.
The artificial milk companies have succeeded in infusing you with their
propaganda.
