One year, for about a month before WBW, I asked the inpatient and outpatient moms which nurse had been very helpful and supportive of her bf (or if a pt told me Nurse Jackie really helped me last nite). We acknowledged all these nurses as exceptional bf supporters. We had a nice certificate "Certificate of Recognition" "This award is presented to xxx in appreciation and recognition for outstanding breastfeeding support." The marketing dept made gift bags with all manner of little freebies like pen lights, ink pens, mirror, ice cream scoop, etc. Many hospitals have lovely little promotional items. They took a pic for our newsletter.
You could also just do some sort of recognition for all the nsy or postpartum nurses, thanking them for their support, anyone you are wanting to encourage. Cupcakes are fine or fruit trays with dip (did that one year). It's not expensive. if your hospital is cooperative, you can ask for meal tickets so the nurse or nurses can get a free lunch ticket.
