Well, I just saw a story of breastfeeding at the Olympics... I'm trying to
find out if she was actually breastfeeding *during* the game, as the
reporter seems to state below.

There was a mother breastfeeding her baby at curling.

Check that: There was a competitor breastfeeding her baby at curling. Glenys
Bakker, a 43-year-old mom on Team Canada, nourished her four-month-old
daughter during a match.

[that's all that was said about breastfeeding, but some of the other curling
comments are funny.]

> TOP medal hope Janine Ilitch is under pressure to stop breastfeeding her
new baby before the Games begin.
>
> The netballer is due to move into the Commonwealth Games village soon.
> But even though six-month-old baby Heath won't be with her in the village,
the dual Commonwealth gold medallist is determined to continue
breastfeeding -- by using a breast pump -- throughout the 10-day tournament.
>
> Team officials have voiced concerns to her. However, the mum of two said
it was her right and was prepared to take her own expressed milk into the
village.

right.

decision when I stop."

>
> She said she was under the impression that the 34-year-old planned to quit
breastfeeding before the Games and she did not know whether the player's
request could now be accommodated.
>
> "It's a delicate issue. She told us she wouldn't be breastfeeding and
that's the problem," Plummer said.

available.

is in there expressing (breast milk)."

emails...how can a sport that is targetted at women and girls be so hostile
to mothers!! This woman should be supported not pressured to stop
breastfeeding!

pressure from employers to wean and it's just not right!
