I have question for you, my colleagues. My daughter has a 5 week old (my
beautiful first granddaughter). Since week 4 the baby has been fussy during
feedings. We have tried all sorts of things thinking it was either reflex or
forceful MER. Looking at mom's milk supply I've been leaning more toward the
MER. She's tried: feeding in a reclining position, stopping the feeding and
catching the first MER, pumping empty after the first morning feeding and
feeding off one side for 4-6 hours and then the other side for 4 - 6 hours.
The problem is getting progressively worse to the point of both being in
tears during feedings today. The baby is gaining weight and is content
between feedings but is fussy during feedings. Sometimes she does spit
forcefully. HELP! Accepting any suggestions.
Dawn (the Grand Mom and perplexed LC)
