In a message dated 98-12-07 17:27:47 EST, you write:

<< The "breastmilk advantages wear out over time" argument is often presented
by those who have been listening to formula reps touting their latest
 "follow-up" formulas, >>

The "follow-up" (sic) formulas have been around a long time but there is a
definite resurgence in marketing efforts by the formula companies.
My personal opinion and what I tell my parents: the follow-up formulas are
simply a marketing gimick so as to keep your money flowing to the formula
companies.
Does someone know the latest figures regarding the average total expense spent
on formula in the first year of life for formula-fed babies. The last time I
checked on this, it was about $600-800 for the first year but I suspect it is
higher now. TIA
