Hello,

I cannot imagine why anyone would think that Gerber were not supportive of
breastfeeding. The following are some of the guidelines for when to start
solids from Gerber's web site:

"doubled birth weight and weighs at least 13 lbs."

"continues to be hungry after 8 to 10 breastfeedings or drinks 32 oz. of
formula a day"

Don't we recommend a newborn nurse 8 to 10 times a day and yet some
newborns may nurse more? I guess they are ready for solids

My first two children were 13 lbs by their two month check up. I quess
they should have been on solids.

Anytime a rep wants to meet with patient care staff it seems questionable
to me. If they want to show that they support breastfeeding make a
donation to the hospital to purchase pumps for mothers that babies are in
NICU.
