Hi all,

I'm being good and studying ;-) and come across an interesting thing in Lawrence, page 67, sixth edition, about factors for mammary growth and embryogenesis.
"Mammary ducts must gro into an adipose tissue pad if morphogenesis is to continue. Only adipose stroma supports ductal elongation."
Could this account for bf troubles in a woman who has been anorectic in puberty...? Could it explain problems (thinking further and further) in women who were dysmature at birth?
My daughter has a friend (16) who has lost so much weight, that even her breasts have gone down about two or three cup sizes... :-(
Yesterday, I learned from Lawrence that breast development is at its height around the age of 20; that would mean that the period from 15 to 20 is very important.
Any thoughts on this...?

Kindly,

Marianne Vanderveen, Netherlands
