I have enjoyed the interesting discussion about orthodontics. My own
daughter had braces at age 8 thru 9.  She was exclusively breatfed
until 18 months of age. (She would not even take solids until age 11 months,
and never had a bottle or pacifier.) The reason she had to get braces is that
she lost three primary teeth, and two secondary teeth came into that space.
The third secondary tooth was shown on x-ray to be lurking underneath another
secondary tooth. It was felt that this tooth would not come in correctly,
and would displace other secondary teeth.  Her teeth did look perfectly
straight, however.

I was bottle fed, and I had braces for over 4 years....
