I suggest that she makes an appointment with a pediatric dietitian.
Also I remember when my children were younger with bad reflux the GI doctor had a long conversation about the places that the child should sit or lie in. I remember that carseats were an absolute no no and most swings and some bouncer chairs. The determination was based on how the legs and stomach were positioned when sitting. If the chair placed the baby so that the legs and stomach were perpendicular then it put more pressure on the stomach and esophagus. So it maybe that the bouncer seat that he is sitting in is not the best place for him. I strongly suggest that placing bricks under the top legs of the crib places the crib at an angle. Also maybe the mother should have the child checked for an ear infection. Ear infections are common for babies with reflux.
