I noticed a friend's baby's lip and tongue tie when baby was about 9 months
old. It explained ALL of her nursing issues (we know them so well).

The lip and tongue ties were revised today. Doctor said, "you can't nurse
until an LC is available so the baby goes on 100% correctly from the first
latch." He couldn't find an LC today.

I offered to see her tomorrow.

The doctor then said - "You can't comfort nurse, either. Baby may chew or
cause you pain."

I suggested she call the doctor back to ask: since my baby has always found
comfort at my breast, from birth - how do you suggest I comfort her if she
cannot have the one thing she loves most in the world? Could you please,
give me options?

He changed his tune - so long as bleeding as subsided, she can nurse.

I guess he didn't know any other options? LOL

Whoa! I'm so glad she called.

And, I'm seeing them at 830 am tomorrow :)

Update on my daughter (13 year old who had a revision). She didn't listen
to mom (ugh), didn't do any exercises (doctor didn't tell her to do any).
She is being revised AGAIN at the end of the month.

What I noticed when it was 'fixed' - her R's were perfect and the tone of
her singing voice (she's an actress and singer) became so much more deep
and whole. When that disappeared, I saw the frenulum grew back.

Mommy is giving her rules this time around LOL
