I'd just like to put my two-cents in here, because this drive me nuts. Dr.
Newman has succinctly said what I've been thinking for the last couple of
years: "Can it [reflux] be as common as it seems to be all of a sudden?"

I'm sure this sounds overly simplistic, but is it possible that although
babies have been breastfeeding for thousands of years, there's suddenly an
epidemic of reflux among breastfed babies?

When a baby is latched well, and the breastfeeding experience is generally
going well (*with* the caveats that Dr. Newman lists in his post!) it's my
opinion that "reflux" is possible, but unlikely in the vast majority of
*breastfed* babies who are otherwise healthy. Meaning, reflux is more of a
formula-fed baby thing.

Now, I need to shut up, since I've been so loquacious today!
