Hello everyone
Further to the recent discussion about infant weights, we have a significant number of baby's in the hospital where I work that have weight loss at day 3 of up to 10% of birth weight.
Where I work, if a baby is born in the morning, they are called day 1. But if born after midday, they remain day 0 till midnight then day 1 the next day.
I have several questions for those of you who work in hospitals.
Is this system of when to change the 'day' of the baby the practice in your hospital?
If not, what does your hospital do?
Following the birth weight, when is the next bare weight done - day 3, 72 hours, discharge, day 5?
Do you have many babies who lose up to 10% of birth weight?
Cheers - Jill
