I have carefully read what Dr.Sears had to say about formula advertizing
and about formula(bottle-feeding) parents rights to get their share of
information. Here is what I think. There is a lot of information on
formula out there. I know for a fact that not all formulas are the same
all over the world and that some formulas come closer in composition to
breastmilk than others. Most formulas have way too much fat in them in
comparison to breastmilk. Maybe it's not the case in the US.

The best reading on Infant feeding (along with speep and many other topics)
I have found is by James L. Hymes, Jr. The Child under Six. You can find
it through used book stores for as low as $5. I have a suspicion that Dr.
Sears' attachment parenting books were influenced by this author. Although
the book was written in 1961 it is most delightful reading on parenting
even today. Chapter Food and Love provides wonderful insights to
brestfeeding(mostly) and bottle-feeding. The author describes the process
of breast-feeding so that bottle-feeding parents can better mimic it
providing not only food, but also love to their children. Unfortunately,
Dr. Sears site doesn't have anything like that (I havn't found it in the
bottle-feeding section). I havn't heard about any literature that will
advise bottle-feeding parents switch sides during feedings to provide more
eye stimulation. Avoiding propping bottles up, trying to always face the
baby inward not outward. Etc, etc, etc...

Disappointed in NC,
Nataliya Wilson.
