A local breastfeeding mom asked me to post the letter below, asking for
support for her cause.

    My name is Deahdra-Lynn Atencio and I live in Chandler, Arizona.  I have
4 children and between them have been breastfeeding for over 9 years.  My
mom nursed me for 4 years and she calls us "red hots" in favor of
breastfeeding.  I support breastfeeding anywhere and anytime I can.  So much
so that our license plate on our vehicle reads BRSTFD.  It was a little work
getting it but, once we explained that it was not sexual and only in
reference to nursing children, it was approved.   
    I have now been informed, years later, that someone has complained about
my license plate and I can either surrender my plates or file a formal
written appeal.   Guess which option we are choosing?  My husband is very
excited to take on this issue and is collecting newspaper clippings about
recent events protecting breastfeeding here in Arizona.  We could use your
help in this fight.  We are asking anyone interested to e-mail us with your
letter of support.  We will be sending these letters, along with the
newspaper clippings, with our letter to the state requesting a formal to
appeal.  Your letter doesn't need to be long; simply letting them know that
you support our plate, and that breastfeeding is not sexual nor offensive,
and we should not have to surrender our plates.
