SOme one asked for humerous bf stories. I'm not sure if this
qualifies, it's kind of sad actually (but it does have a happy
ending!)

My family went to the zoo recently and my husband took a bottle of
breastmilk for my then 4 month old because I was supposed to meet them
there. He never used the milk so it remained in the pocket of the
diaper bag.

As we were leaving and the zoo was closing, I spotted a very frantic
woman trying to comfort a crying baby. As I walked past, her eyes
widened as she saw the bottle in my daiper bag and she said, "DO you
have any extra formula?". I was completely taken aback. I think I
even smiled to myself, but seeing the desperation in her eyes I simply
said, "Well, uh, this is breastmilk..." To which she replied, "Oh my
gosh! I wish he was still nursing! I just quit last week because I
was going back to work I don't hink he'll do it. We're visiting
family here and ran out of formlua...my husband has the car keys and
is on the [20-minute zoo] train..." Well, I know an opportunity when
I see one!
I told her I was a breastfeeding specialist and was going to feed my
baby in the van if she wanted to try nursing her baby there, too. She
readily agreed and suprise, suprise, that little chunk took right to
the breast (which was leaking milk)! All the while I'm talking to her
about working and breastfeeding and encouraged her to call LLL or her
hosptital LC stressing the importance of seeing someone who was
specially trained in lactation.
This kid (and his mom) must have *some* guardian angel!
