Dear Judy and all,

What's the big deal about the let-down reflex? I can't remember a mom in my
practice in the past ten years who had a problem with it, unless her milk
supply was ALSO extremely low. Makes sense- if there's no milk, you can't let
it down. If milk is being removed, it will continue being made. And if it's
being made, it'll let down. Only the most extreme, unusual stresses
interfere and then only a tiny bit until the breast fills up and empties
anyway.

And on that subject - please get off the "stimulate" kick and concentrate on
removal of milk to keep the level of suppressor peptides low. You can
"stimulate" without removal, but you can't remove milk without also
stimulating the breast. So put the attention on milk transfer or removal.

Linda Smith, secure in the letdown reflex department
