Hi
Am wondering if anyone knows of any reason why open heart surgery at 5
years old might affect milk production as an adult? Am seeing a mother with
delayed lactogenesis (7 days postpartum) who answers all my questions about
thyroid, pituitary, bleeding, etc. in the negative. The only surgery she
ever had was as a 5 year old. I don't think that would affect milk
production as she had normal breast develpment in pregnancy, but perhaps
someone else can think of something I am not.
Peg Merrill, IBCLC
