Breastfeeding: Science and Society, 11-13 May 1995.  Organized in
collaboration with The Royal Society, Summary Report.  Pontificiae
Academiae Scientarium Documenta 28.  Contains a Papal statement and lots of
other info and you will recognize many of the participant's names. Sort of
modeled after WHO statement on BF.   I'm not Catholic, but simply wrote to
the local Diocese and asked for a copy, which they promptly sent.

I agree that we need to know enough to know where a mom is coming from, her
belief system, her cultural beliefs, all of that.  In nursing it is called
"cross-cultural nursing" (or culturally competent care). .  I guess we
could use the same title with a different meaning  :-)  Sincerely, Pat in
