Having just read through some old ABA newsletters, finding Virginia's story
written up in 1994 and  remembering the recent discussion on Lactnet about
relactation I've been thinking a similar thing. What would have happened if
relactation hadn't been mentioned in the books you read??? We never know
which mother will decide after breastfeeding failure that it's worth another
go but if they don't know that it is a possibility they can't possibly
decide to try. Mentioning the possibility is important, most mothers will
probably ignore it but not all and from talking to mothers who have
relactated, those who do so end up being strong advocates for breastfeeding.
