...I have to do a paper on a
problem related to poorly managed stress...this could be direct..., or more
indirect such as conflicting values, i.e. husband feels
breasts are his, mom feels stress...

Reading this quickly, I first saw "husband feel breasts are his mom's..."
and thought
"Aha!"

Whether you [mis]interpret that to mean,

(a) the husband feels that his wife's breastfeeding puts his wife in his
mother's role in relation to himself (therefore changing the balance of
power in the marriage and making sexual relations taboo); or

(b) the husband feels his mother should make the breastfeeding decisions
for his wife; or

(c) the husband's mother feels that she should make the breastfeeding
decisions for her son's wife,

it is all very interesting and probably one or all are true in some
situations when we are trying to help a mom breastfeed and she is running
into some interference from other members of the family.
