It's not just the place of birth, but also the attitude of those surrounding the
birthin woman.

Next week I'll be present at and speak to a Unicef conference in Geneva (Hi Evi,
see you then) about the system of mother support groups. It will be especially
attended by HCPs from the former Eastern Europe. It will be five days of talking
and working about what the concept of peer counselling, mother to mother support
and volunteer support is, how it works, how to start and maintain a mother
support group and thelike. I hope that it will have great impact in these
countries where mother to mother support is not yet well known, as well as a
renewed interest in countries where it has been known and working for decades.
