Gonneke...I completely agree with you on both counts the burping and back 
sleeping.  These parents are wacking these babies around for 45 minutes to 
make them burp which only causes them to get overstimulated and guess 
what?...want to nurse again and again.  I suggest that they take the more 
natural approach and leave the babies alone just where they are or lying them 
on their (parents) chest....burping is just another "throw-back" from 
bottlefeeding.  A
nd you are right...back lying is a very exposed position for a mammal and not 
condusive for digestion...I have been known to pose the question "how would 
you like to eat Thanksgiving dinner and then be put on your back every 3 hrs?!
