Premature or sick baby must bottle feed well twice before he can
breastfeed.
Premature baby limited to 5 minute breastfeed and forced to take his
required formula or fortified EBM by bottle. Entire feeding must be
completed within 30 minutes.
Blood sugar is low. Give ABM immediately as baby might not breastfeed.
Blood sugar is above 40, but dropping and baby hasn't breastfed yet;
give formula.
Baby needs to eat, but won't breastfeed; give formula by bottle.
Mom says she wants to breast and bottle feed. Give her formula whenever
she asks and don't educate her about the risks of mixed feeding--low
supply, nipple confusion.
Asking mom if she plans to breast or bottle feed instead of saying, "We
recommend that you breastfeed (and why).
Giving out promo packs in the hospital or doctor's office.
Advertising formula--calendars, note pads, pens, mugs, etc.
Accepting money from formula companies for dinners, conferences,
meetings, etc.
Recommending supplements without trying to fix breastfeeding.
Telling mothers they can't eat spicy food, drink pop, etc., etc. etc. if
they are breastfeeding.
Telling mothers they must wean if they get sick or take any kind of
medicine.
Not LISTENING to the mother's concerns.
Not referring to IBCLCs when there is a problem.

Way too much, I know, for a person who can so deftly pack all of
breastfeeding mangagement into a pocket-sized 20-page book. Got carried
away as usual.

Please give us a report--what you used, how it went, etc.
