I sometimes tell moms it's like deciding what the baby should breathe. Of
course, clean air is best, but you wouldn't opt for blowing smoke in baby's
face just because you're tired, or think he might not be getting enough due
to increased feeding during a growth spurt. (After all, you can't measure
the clean air he breathes, but you can see the smoke disappear up his nose!)

sadly we live in a culture where "everyone smokes" and they are fine, so
what's a little smoke in the baby? Also, other people can blow that smoky air
in the baby, but it takes mom's presence, or the "work" or pumping to get the
clean stuff in... more people accept that smoky air is not a good breathing
environment than that artificial feeds are not a good physiological
environment to grow up amidst.... what an uphill battle. Jan's comments about
Viagra deaths vs one domperidone, are quite telling aren't they? Shows where
US priorities are...('Priaprities'?:))
