Catching up on some reading - Oct 2000, Clinical Reviews, 10(10) <does that
say anything about my life?>
New possible causes of SIDS -

1. insufficient weight gain in early weeks of life (!)

2. Back to Sleep not being used by grandparents, relatives and day cares

3. Maternal smoking during pg (didn't we already know that?)

4. Long-QT syndrome (a heart arrythmia)

R/T BF by the poor early weight gain. My personal experience has been that
a BF dyad that is doing well shows birth weight or more by the 4-5 th day!
If that is not happening then we need to look for a cause of poor milk
transfer. NOT 2 WEEKS OUT!!!!!

Happy Holidays, off to see the kiddies with the FLU - we have been
overwhelmed at our office.
