I seem to remember reading/hearing somewhere that the US was one of the few
countries that didn't bathe babies until the cord fell off. I thought I read
that in Sweden babies were routinely put into tubs and no one worried about
the cord, and there were no more infections of the cord there than here.
Ted, perhaps you could speak to this. Is this something I'm imagining from
my dim dark past? Frankly, since we aren't bathing dirty bodies in the tub,
and if it is reasonably clean, I don't see that it should be an issue.
