Hello! I am trying to start an outpatient infant follow up program with breastfeeding support at my hospital. I currently work at a small rural hospital where there is great BF support inpatient but after the mom and baby goes home, there is not really any support for them. I am proposing to start an infant follow up program for every baby discharged from the hospital within 2-3 days of discharge with breastfeeding support available to all nursing mothers. I was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions or advice and knowledge they can share! I have compiled a lot of research about the benefits of infant follow up and will be presenting to our director of nursing at the end of next week. I think it would be a great addition to our perinatal services. Thank you in advance for your advice! you can also email me directly at [log in to unmask]
