Hi all,

Yes, I too experienced an arthritic-like condition in my hands in the early
months of breastfeeding. Basically I ignored it and it went away - don't
remember how long it lasted.

As a childbirth educator and doula as well as LC, I see many pregnant and new
mothers.  Many of them (more than one in each class I teach of six couples
each) report either carpal tunnel during pregnancy and/or pain and stiffness
and swelling in their hands in the early months of breastfeeding.

Seems fairly common....
