I heard a very nice piece on the radio coming into work today (on the ice!). Dr. Dean O'Dell did a little piece on breastfeeding as a valuable easy way to keep babies healthy. He quoted some statistics about how few mothers initiate breastfeeding in the U.S. and how little pediatricians know about the subject because of a lack of teaching they get in their residencies. At the end, he stated that there is such a person as an LC, and that this person should be utilized! Who can we thank for this??
