   I was attempting to speculate why it works... i really do not know... Dr,
Rossi feels very strongly that here in americal the is an overabstemince from
salt leading to "chronic salt deficiency" his experience is that increasing
salt intake, to taste, decreases mastitis and plugged ducts. he does not
discuss the mechnism for this... I have also read reports of woman who have
found a corelation between dehydration and mastitis...

     speculating that fluid intake is important to milk production and
remembering that excess is harmful an appropriate fliud intake and retention
would appear to have a role ...if one has mastitis we usually suggest
increasing fluid intake. we encourage fluids with breastfeeding although most
woman become thirsty on their own...there must be some basis for this ....
