    my quess is that chele marmet would use the "nipple ring" she developed
to hold the nipple erect...therby allowing it to dry rather than stay moist
which may be what has ultimately lead to break down....the rings are avail
from her or your mom might want to devise something similiar...

    might careful after feeding care, ie: patting dry,  achieve the same
goal?
