You know, just my own personal story – nothing researched or documented
unless you check out my kids Med charts. 3 boys – last 2 have the same dad
– (all three have the same mom – LOL!). At any rate – re: the last two –
VERY different growth rates.

#2 was 7’ 6” at birth – but by 12 months was wearing Size 2 and was well
over 28 pounds. He was always a big kid – thinned out as he got older, but
even at nearly 12 he is wearing size 16 pants…

#3 was 9’ 6” at birth – but by 12 months barely weighed 20 pounds. He is on
the small/short side for his age (now 9 ˝). He can’t fit into a size 8
anymore but the 10’s hang on him…

Both were exclusively breastfed (except #2 for about 1-2 wks when he needed
supplementation due to BF difficulties) until at least 6 months then solids
were introduced at their sign of readiness (#2 Ben around 6 months, #3
Patrick around 7 months – loved that nectarine he grabbed from me!). Both
were BF long-term. Ben 3 yrs 2 months, Patrick 4.5 yrs!

Not a study – but the same genetics and you still have two very different
growth patterns…go figure.

Warmly,

Jaye
