Sorry about the delay since the quote appeared. I am behind in reading.

<< I push
a couple of servings of calcium fortified orange juice (which is actually
more absorbable than the calcium in milk); >>

I just read a post with the above statement and wanted to have a bit more
information if possible. I was told recently by a fellow health educator (we
teach corporate health and wellness), that people are not able to absorb the
calcium in orange juice and it is therefore useless to buy the calcium
fortified kinds. I was skeptical of this, but did not have any references
one way or the other. Do you?

To reintroduce, due to a long absence - I am Lisa Updike, IBCLC, but not
practicing now, although still a LLL Leader. Formerly, I have been a private
practice LC as well as a hosptial LC and childbirth educator. I am now
teaching health and wellness programs to adults and finishing my Masters in
Education (in May!).

Thanks to all of you for keeping me so up-to-date on breastfeeding issues.
They are still my passion.

Lisa
