"CHuck E Cheese" ????

truth in advertising: it does indeed make babies and their mothers "chuck"
when consumed by teh sensitive or to excess. How nice to see it admitted in
advertising that cheese is chucky stuff!

Hdrolysates are not the answer: elementals are preferable as supplements in
the cases that Allan Walker is discussing, the highly sensitve few who are
worse on breast+bottle. Breast actually does help digest formula fats and
any is better than none for most babies, but feeding them separately
probably does mean better retention of breastmilk benefits. (We don't
know:educated guess.)

Mike Woolridge suggested that if mothers just don't have quite enough, and
can't make enough, they should try to limit the use of bottles to a
particulat point in the day, give just one bottle, and breastfeed for the
rest of the time: a breastfeeding on demand mother all day except for the
6pm bottle, so to speak. Lots of toppings up certainly are more likely to
decrease production all day than a single one in the evening. Of course the
six o'clock starvation syndrome can be dealt with by moving milk around
from first morning feed to evening: put baby on one side, cylinder pump
over 2nd breast, draw back just enough to release the sphincter as milk
ejection is triggered, fill the pump, put it donw and cover, get baby to
work at emptying the second side; when finished put in fridge and store for
evening. No hands, no time, hand expression, really. Emptier breast, faster
rate of synthesis means more milk over tha day, too.
