A little update on the breastfeeding mother with foxin ( I spoke with her).
She had a rather sever reaction to penicillin (difficulty breathing) so Pen
was out and I gues this is why they were worried about the cephalosporins as
sometimes they cross react. At the time I spoke with her she did not have an
infection, only a separation and they were watching. I discussed that a few
days of floxin would probably not harm the baby, she felt more comfortable
with pumping and discarding but had every intention of continuing to
breastfeed. Sounded like here OB and ped were willing to work with her so I
hope this story has a happy ending.
