Lisa, please share the jaundice protocol from the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine with your local physicians. You can find it here

<http://www.bfmed.org/Media/Files/Protocols/Protocol%2022%20Jaundice.pdf> or here http://www.liebertonline.com/doi/abs/10.1089/bfm.2010.9994

Also, if you search http://scholar.google.com for any articles by Lawrence Gartner related to jaundice and breastfeeding, you will find useful information.

I would like to put together a packet of info to help our local doctors understand the relationship between breastfeeding and jaundice. This is not the first time I have worked with a mom who has been told to stop breastfeeding because of jaundice, although this is the first time it has been labeled breastmilk jaundice.

Thanks for your help!

Lisa Paul
