Just wanted to thank everyone for their good thoughts and prayers. Alex
is doing well. His eyes look good, so I am hoping that this will be his
last surgery. He is back to being a "rascal"!

I'd like to share a little more with you. I was in the operating room
with him until he went to sleep. With his bubble gum flavored gas mask
over his mouth, Alex was watching the balloon (?) while he was breathing.
He asked the anesthesiologist if he could keep the balloon. He told
Alex no one has ever asked that before, but he could keep the balloon.
When I went to Alex in the recovery room, there on his bed was the
balloon and the gas masked. It really made Alex's day.

One more story. When we went home, Alex crawled up on the couch with me
to sleep. My youngest who is still nursing actually let her big brother
have "her" space next to mom. No complaints. She never allows anyone in
her nursing spot! I guess after being with him at the hospital all day,
she realized he needed to be there. She even caressed his face.
Sigh.....I'll enjoy it now as it won't last. :)

Aloha,
