I would recommend the mother buy some good quality Acidophilus capsules (the
ones the pharmacists keep behind the counter in the refrigerator seem to be
most effective) and open one, sprinkle a little in the babe's mouth, close
the capsule, and take the rest of it herself - repeat a couple of times a
day for several weeks. I have seen this clear up thrush and yeast diaper
rash in a baby in just a couple of days. It seems here in the humid south
USA that yeast frequently recurs until the mother and babe are recolonized
with beneficial bacteria- even after diflucan.

For a yeasty family :-), I would also recommend using Dr. Jack Newman's
APNO (maybe she could ask her doctor instead of the baby's), not using
antibacterial soaps, etc, as they kill off the good bacteria that compete
with the yeast, and aggressively treating the first signs of yeast in
anyone: vaginal infection, yeasty diaper rash, athlete's foot, jock itch,
thrush, etc. Many mothers do not realize these may all be connected and
that the family is passing the yeast around. In recalcitrant cases, I also
recommend not reusing towels. Paper towels can replace handtowels and bath
towels be washed after each use. Yeast loves warmth and moisture!
