Dear Jessica,
You wrote: Has anyone ever had any experience with a baby spitting up
after the mom started on Domperidone?
Mom has been pumping her milk-  baby had tongue tie and she is nursing and
pumping, but now the only change was the starting the medication and the baby
has begun spitting up- after bottle or breast.

Domperidone can cause abdominal cramping and other digestive problems.
Since a small amount of the medication will get into the milk, a sensitive
baby can experience these same problems. No drug is safe for 100% of the
people on the planet. It is always possible to have an unusual adverse effect.
Another consideration: Has anyone in the family been ill, such as a
preschool sibling or dad? Perhaps baby got the same "bug" as the other family
members, but because he is breastfed, his symptoms aren't as severe and mom
isn't recognizing that it could be the same illness.
Mom may want to run a trial similar to what is done for suspected food
allergies. Mom could stop the Domperidone for a few days to see if baby gets
better. If he does, she could try the medication again. If baby remains
symptom free the second time, then perhaps it was an illness. If baby starts
spitting up again, then he probably can't handle the medicine and mom would
probably be better off trying a different galactogogue.
